Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) to Hold a
Board Planning Session Scheduled for November 13, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

ATLANTA – The Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) will hold a board planning session for its Board of Directors on Thursday, November 13, 2025, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Georgia Transportation Alliance, 270 Peachtree Street (FALCONS ROOM), Atlanta, GA 30303.

The purpose of the session is to facilitate a general discussion among ATL Board members on various matters pertaining to the ATL. There will be no public comment opportunity during the session, and no official board action will be taken. The meeting is open to the public.

Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority Announces Schedule Adjustments to Xpress Routes Experiencing More Passengers Than Seats  

Beginning on September 15, 2025 

The Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority (ATL) announces targeted schedule adjustments to its Xpress bus service on certain routes. These updates are driven by ongoing service monitoring and public feedback received from the launch of the “Redefining the Ride – Xpress 2.0” initiative in June 2025. Schedule changes will take effect on September 15, 2025.  

ATL is making schedule adjustments to improve route performance and increase seat capacity on routes experiencing more riders than seats available. These changes reflect ATL’s commitment to provide safe, efficient, reliable transit services for our riders. 

What will change starting September 15: 

• Additional daily departures on Routes 412, 414, 426, 430, and 441 to support ridership demand during peak hours 

• Additional Monday and Friday departures on Routes 401, 419, 426, 430, 441, 453, 463, and 476 resulting in consistent daily schedules for each of these routes 

• Minor timing changes on Routes 430 and 441 to shorten wait times between departures

the Atlanta Urbanized Area (UZA) FTA Formula Funds Proposed Program of Projects (POP)

In compliance with requirements and guidelines outlined in Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Circular 4702.1B, and the Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority (ATL) Title VI Program, comment is requested on the Atlanta Urbanized Area (UZA) FTA Formula Funds Program of Projects (POP). The formal public comment period begins July 13, 2025, and concludes August 20, 2025.

The POP outlines FTA formula program funds allocated to the Atlanta region, and shows projects selected for funding by local governments and eligible recipients. These FTA formula funds include the Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program, 5337 State of Good Repair Grants Program, and 5339 Bus and Bus Facilities Program. The POP compliments the Atlanta Region Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) which lists how all federal transportation funds are programmed. The TIP lists FTA formula suballocation funding amounts, while the POP provides detail at the project level. ATL, as Designated Recipient for the Atlanta region’s urbanized FTA formula fund apportionments is responsible for developing the POP from information provided by transit operators and local governments.

Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority (ATL) Announces Xpress Service Changes Beginning on June 16, 2025

The Changes Affect All Xpress Routes

The Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority (ATL) announces systemwide service changes to its Xpress bus service, which will take effect on Monday, June 16. These changes come as part of the authority’s “Redefining the Ride – Xpress 2.0” initiative. On April 3, 2025, the ATL board voted to approve the service changes.

The service modifications are driven by lagging ridership that is largely a result of post-pandemic shifts in commute patterns. The restructuring aims to ensure more efficient use of available funding while maintaining essential transit services for the Atlanta region.

The new system plan was developed through comprehensive data analysis and regional input. The changes include schedule changes to all routes, closures of some park-and-ride locations, and some routes ending at MARTA stations, rather than continuing to Downtown or Midtown Atlanta.

The Xpress website will also have details about registration for the virtual public meeting to present the new, adopted service plan from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.  Please make sure to register if you would like to learn more.

Additionally, Xpress/ATL representatives will conduct in-person visits to impacted park-and-ride locations in June 2025 to communicate the service changes to riders leading up to implementation on June 16.
