Board Re-Elects District 10 Representative
Felicia Franklin Warner as Vice Chair
New Chief Mobility Officer Previews 2020 ATL Roadmap
ATLANTA – At its Board Meeting today, the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) Board of Directors moved forward with the annual election of its Vice Chair, received updates on the proposed ATL 2020 Strategic Road Map and the regional bus stop signage implementation project.

The Board re-elected Clayton County Commissioner and District 10 Representative, Felicia Franklin Warner as Vice Chair. “The board is pleased to have Commissioner Franklin-Warner continue to serve as our Vice Chair and we look forward to her continued leadership contributions as we work towards a more seamless and connected transit network,” said Charlie Sutlive, ATL Board Chair.

Adelee Le Grand, the new Chief Mobility Officer of the ATL, previewed the proposed 2020 ATL Strategic Roadmap. The ATL Roadmap provides a high-level framework and guide that will build upon the ATL’s guiding principles and the Atlanta Regional Transit Plan (ARTP) and Audit. The ATL Roadmap will address a series of strategic priorities and actions for future planning in 2020. Ms. Le Grand stated that a key component of the ATL roadmap is listening and learning from regional transit operators and she has begun early discussions with key transit stakeholders to gain their feedback.

“As we kick off 2020, it is important that we learn from other transit providers on how the ATL can bring added value and what are the common needs shared amongst our partner agencies,” stated Adelee Le Grand, Chief Mobility Officer. “We already know that two key focus areas are the need to streamline the transit planning process and our collective goal of improving the customer experience through project selection and implementation.”

Executive Director Chris Tomlinson and Chief Financial Officer Monique Simmons gave an update on the amended FY 2020 and FY 2021 Governor’s Budget Recommendation. Additionally, Executive Director Tomlinson presented updated information on the implementation of new regional bus signage.

The next meeting of the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) Board of Directors is scheduled for April 9, 2020.

Transportation Talk with Atlanta Region Transit Link Authority

ATLtransit Interim Executive Director Chris Tomlinson responds to transit Q’s on ‘Atlanta Business Chronicle’s BIZ’

Metro Atlanta has a new agency that’s supposed to make transit smoother.

A new metro Atlanta transit agency is starting work, with the heavy job of networking regional buses and the train into a more reliable and practical system.

Atlanta’s mayor to be Cobb’s final transit board representative

Following caucuses held in Atlanta last week, all 16 board members who will serve on the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority board have now been selected, including the three who will represent transit districts that include Cobb.

The ATL fills out 16-member board

Metro Atlanta’s new regional transit governing agency has filled out its 16-member board from a roster of local elected officials and business leaders.

Going Places

Metro Atlanta transit is now rapidly evolving. You could call it the Amazon Effect, but it’s more accurate to dub it the Mercedes Movement. Or the State Farm Solution. Or the Pulte Homes Preference.

Mass transit gets a boost, but local officials seek options, control

Mass transit has had a banner year in Georgia after decades of resistance. The state legislature approved a new regional transit authority encouraging possible MARTA expansion in such longtime holdouts as Gwinnett County, and Gov. Nathan Deal announced $100 million in bond funding for bus rapid transit on Ga. 400.

Gwinnett’s Charlotte Nash on MARTA: ‘We are ready to roll’

By any measure, Charlotte Nash is a poster child of Gwinnett County.

She has lived her entire 65 years in Gwinnett, one of the few among the county’s 920,260 residents as of a year ago. When she was born, Gwinnett had fewer than 40,000 residents.
