LIVE STREAM MEETING

The ATL is governed by a 16-member board comprised of metro Atlanta business leaders and government officials.

Board of Directors

Our board includes 10 members from across the 13-county region representing the newly created transit districts. These members were chosen by caucuses of county commission chairs, local legislative delegations and mayors. The lieutenant governor and speaker of the House each appoint two members while the board’s chair is appointed by the governor. The vice-chair is selected annually from among the board members. The commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation is an ex-officio, non-voting member of the board.

Steve M. Brock I Chairman, Governor Appointee Steve M. Brock Chairman, Governor Appointee
Mr. Brock founded Brock Built Homes in 1984 and continues to act as Chief Operating Officer. His company has been recognized as one of the premier building companies in the Atlanta area, winning dozens of honors including Professionalism Awards, Obie Awards, the 2008 Homebuilder of the Year, and the 2009 Earth Craft Builder of the Year. Through his company, Brock has built over 2,500 homes and has altered the landscape of the west side of Atlanta. He also serves as a Life Director on the Board of Directors for the Greater Atlanta Homebuilder’s Association and has been named “Builder at Large.”

Andy Macke | District 1Macke is the Vice President of Client Services at CERM. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia and master’s degree in Telecommunications Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Paul Radford | District 2Paul Radford, District 2
Paul Radford is the City Manager of Sugar Hill. Previously, he served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). Paul received his BA from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia and his Masters in Urban Affairs from Virginia Tech.

Robb Pitts | District 3Robb Pitts, District 3
Pitts is the Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. Robb earned his undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degrees in education, business, languages and Latin American Studies at Ohio University, La Academia Hispanoamericana, Kent State University and La Universidad Interamericana. He has a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University.

Todd Ver Steeg | District 4Todd Ver Steeg, District 4
Ver Steeg is currently the Vice President and part owner of Vermeer Southeast Sales & Service, a construction equipment dealer with eleven locations serving Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and portions of South Carolina. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the Central University of Iowa in Pella, Iowa.

Tom Weyandt | District 5Tom Weyandt, District 5
Weyandt is a former transportation policy and planning official. He has a bachelor’s degree from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

Marlene Fosque | District 6A former Gwinnett County Commissioner, Marlene Fosque served as the 2022 chair of the National Association of Counties’ Transit/Rail Subcommittee. A graduate of Leadership Gwinnett, DCA’s Community Planning Institute, and ARC’s Regional Leadership Institute (2022), Fosque received a Masters of Public Administration from Regent University.

Michael L. Thurmond | District 7Michael L. Thurmond, District 7
Thurmond is the Chief Executive Officer of Dekalb County. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religion from Paine College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina’s School of Law.

Marci Collier Overstreet | District 8Marci Collier Overstreet, District 8
Atlanta City Council Member Marci Collier Overstreet is a native of Atlanta and product of Atlanta Public Schools, graduating from Benjamin E. Mays High School in 1983. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Georgia State University. She has over 25 years of experience in service and leadership by way of her chosen career path, volunteerism, and organization affiliations.

Howard A. Mosby, CPA | District 9Howard A. Mosby, CPA, District 9
Mosby is the Vice President of Faculty Contracts Administration in Medical Affairs at Grady Health System. He was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2002 and concluded his service as a member of the General Assembly in December 2018.

Ricky L. Clark, Jr | District 10Ricky L. Clark, Jr. is the City Manager of Forest Park. Clark has worked in government since the age of 18 and has received several prestigious awards throughout his career including the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 under 40 award.

Teddy Russell | Lt. Governor AppointeeTeddy Russell, Lt. Governor Appointee
Appointed by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, Russell is currently the CEO and owner of Russell Landscape. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.

T. Daniel “Dan” Buyers | Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan AppointeeT. Daniel “Dan” Buyers, Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan Appointee
Dan Buyers joined McWhirter Realty Partners in 1994 and became a Partner in 2016. He specializes in land sales, site selection and office/medical office brokerage. Dan is an active member of the community and the commercial real estate industry, serving on multiple boards including the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority (Vice-Chair), the Town Center Community Improvement District (Vice Chair), the Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS®, the Cobb Community Foundation, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, the Council for Quality Growth, and the Wellstar Foundation. Dan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate from the University of Georgia.

Charlotte Nash | Speaker David Ralston AppointeeCharlotte Nash,Speaker David Ralston Appointee
Charlotte J. Nash’s career with Gwinnett County spans almost four decades, first as a staff member and then as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners. She has been active in multiple civic and governmental organizations at the local, regional, and state level. Her roles have included board member for the Atlanta Regional Commission, board chair for the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District, and President of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG). She currently serves on the board for the ATL, the regional transit authority, as an appointee of Georgia House Speaker David Ralston. She was recognized by Georgia Trend magazine in 2020 as a Georgia Legacy Leader based on lifetime contributions to the State. Charlotte is a lifelong resident of the Dacula/Harbins area of Gwinnett County and holds a BBA from the University of Georgia. She and her husband, Michael, have two children, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Russell R. McMurry, P.E. | GDOT Commissioner Ex-officio MemberRussell R. McMurry, P.E., GDOT Commissioner Ex-officio Member
On Jan. 20, 2015, Commissioner Russell R. McMurry, P.E. was appointed by the State Transportation Board to lead the Georgia Department of Transportation – the $3 billion, 4000-employee state agency responsible for building, maintaining and operating the 10th largest transportation system in the country.
